Coronavirus – Extension of the deadlines in all procedures for Chinese parties before the EUIPO
Decision No EX-20-1 of February 14, 2020 from the Executive Director of the EUIPO
The Director-General of the World Health Organization declared that an outbreak of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the People's Republic of China constituted a Public Health Emergency of International Concern. The outbreak has affected communications between the People's Republic of China and the European Union.
In accordance with the European regulations concerning European trademarks and designs and since this coronavirus disease outbreak constitutes an exceptional occurrence, the Executive Director of the EUIPO has decided the following:
All time limits expiring between 30 January 2020 and 28 February 2020 inclusive that affect parties in proceedings before the Office having their residence or registered office in People's Republic of China are extended until 29 February 2020.
This Decision entered into force on the day following its adoption i.e. on February 15, 2020.
